Do you read John Donne? He's an amazing poet too. Try "Valediction Forbidding Mourning" it talks of how 2 souls are intertwined like a "kawakatuwa" - when on wonders away, the other leans toward it and when it comes home, they both stand erect together. Wierd but fantastic imagery. And for a taste of the Sri Lankan, I read Richard De Zoysa's work like "Every Gull is not Like Jonathan L" and Afdhel Aziz's book of poerty - China Bay Blues.
