I carry your heart with me..

19 Mayam07, 2007

I carry your heart with me..

I carry it in my heart..

I am never without it..

Anywhere i go, you go my dear..

And whatever is done by only me, is your doing my darling..

I fear no fate, for you are my fate, my sweet..

I want no world, for beautiful.. you are my world, my true..

Here is the deepest secret no one knows.. Here is the root of the root.. And the bud of the bud..And the sky of the sky.. of a tree called life.. which grows higher than the soul can hope.. or mind can hide..

It is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart..

I carry your heart..

I carry it in my heart..

e.e. cummings actually. always wrote his name in simple letters to symbolize the simplicity within him. fantastic bit of writing though, isn’t it? devestatingly simple.

I totally agree. I absolutely love his poems. They’re totally unbelievable. Especially this piece. It says so much, so simply. Thanks for the info on his name. I wasn’t aware of it. Shall correct it.

ah I see you’ve changed mr. cummings’ name. Do you read John Donne? He’s an amazing poet too. Try “Valediction Forbidding Mourning” it talks of how 2 souls are intertwined like a “kawakatuwa” – when on wonders away, the other leans toward it and when it comes home, they both stand erect together. Wierd but fantastic imagery. And for a taste of the Sri Lankan, I read Richard De Zoysa’s work like “Every Gull is not Like Jonathan L” and Afdhel Aziz’s book of poerty – China Bay Blues. Sorry to rattle, poerty generally gives me a high!

No i haven’t read John Donne’s work. But now that you mentioned him, i did take a looksee. Didn’t stir up my soul, but i found him interesting. I love reading R.Tagore’s work. He really puts me in a mood. A nice mellow one when i’m feeling chaotically imbalanced. : )
